Taxi or train from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport

And please note: If you are a course participant, we will arrange to pick you up at the airport.

If you are travelling on your own, you can take a taxi. The journey by taxi normally takes about 30 minutes. Allow at least an hour during rush hour (07.30-09.30 and 16.00-18.00)! The fare is in the region of €70, but is heavily dependent on the traffic conditions. Taxi drivers in the area know us as the "Wereldomroep" rather than as Radio Netherlands. Literally translated it means "World Broadcasting Organisation", but we don't use this term in English.

A cheaper and easier way is by train: at Schiphol railway station, buy a ticket to Hilversum Noord (be careful as there are three stations in Hilversum). The journey time is between 40 and 47 minutes. In some cases, you have to change trains at Weesp or at Hilversum Central Station. Dutch railways offer an online timetable service in English, which gives exact departure times. You'll find it at this address.  (LINK to http://www.ns.nl/cs/Satellite/travellers)

On arrival at Hilversum Noord, you'll see a main road that runs parallel to the railway tracks. On leaving the station, cross the road, turn right and follow the footpath along the main road. You will pass TV studios on your left. After a 10 minute walk, you'll come to a roundabout. Keep walking until you see a set of traffic lights and a café called "Het Pandje". Turn left into the Witte Kruislaan. You will be able to see the Radio Netherlands' building on the right-hand side of the street.

By car from Amsterdam

From the A10 ring road that circles Amsterdam, take the exit for the A1 motorway towards Amersfoort. This is on the eastern side of Amsterdam and clearly signposted.  The journey by car normally takes about 35 minutes, but allow at least an hour during rush hour, (07.30-09.30 and 16.00-18.00)!

Follow the A1 for approximately 10 km. Ignore the turn off for the A6 to Almere and Lelystad, and the following exit to Naarden West. Take the exit  after this, marked Bussum/Naarden. Turn left at the end of the off-ramp. Follow the signs to Bussum Zuid. This will take you back over the motorway and back again! At the oval roundabout go left (still following the signs to Bussum Zuid). You are now travelling parallel to the motorway, which is now on your left. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights and  follow the main road (sharp turn to the right and then left again).

You are now on the Ceintuurbaan in Bussum. Follow this road to the end. At the third roundabout, turn left, following the signs to Hilversum. Continue straight on through two sets of traffic lights in the direction of Hilversum. After going under a bridge you will see a third set of traffic lights and a large communications tower to the right.

Turn right at these traffic lights onto the Witte Kruislaan. The entrance to the Radio Netherlands building is immediately visible. Please use the free guest parking spaces immediately in front of the main entrance. Report to the reception desk in the main entrance and we will pick you up there. RNTC has its own premises behind the main Radio Netherlands building.

By car from Utrecht

The journey time from Utrecht to Hilversum is about 30 minutes. Allow at least an hour in the rush hour (07.30-0930 and 16.00-18.00)! Get onto the A27 motorway heading north in the direction of Hilversum and Almere. Do not turn off at the exit marked Hilversum but follow the directions for Amsterdam, merging onto the A1.

Once you're on the A1, after about 2 kms, take the exit marked Hilversum Noord/Laren/Mediapark. Turn left at the end, towards Hilversum. Continue through the next set of traffic lights. Follow the road for a further 2 kms until you come to a roundabout. Take the first exit to your right, following the signs to the Mediapark. Continue straight ahead, through another set of traffic lights, on the J. Geradtsweg. The road goes over a railway. On the other side of the bridge, take a sharp right into the Sumatralaan. Drive past the entrance to the Mediapark (on your left). At the roundabout, turn left towards Bussum. The road (Mies Bouwman Boulevard) goes past TV studios on your left. After 2 kms you will come to a set of traffic lights. Take the left-filter lane that turns into the Witte Kruislaan.

You will see a café called "Het Pandje" on the corner. You should now be able to see the entrance to the Radio Netherlands building. Please use the free guest parking spaces immediately in front of the main entrance. Report to the reception desk in the main building and we will pick you up there. By bus from Hilversum Central Station

We don't recommend coming by bus from Amsterdam or Utrecht unless you know your way. There is a bus service from the centre of Hilversum that passes the Radio Netherlands/RNTC buildings. From Hilversum Central railway Station, take bus number 107 to Huizen. Get off at the "Wereldomroep" stop (about 10 minutes from Hilversum Central railway station). Walk towards the traffic lights. There is a café called "t Pandje/De Crailose Brug" on the opposite corner of the junction. The Radio Netherlands' building is immediately behind it.
