Couse aim

Do you want to build up your personal profile on the Internet, make your Face book page more attractive or work towards a professional status as a Internet journalist? This course familiarizes students with how to produce and publish multimedia stories on the internet using text, photos, audio and video. The emphasis will be on ‘learning by doing’ with practical exercises and assignments using professional equipment. Students will be expected to work both individually and in teams. They will be working towards pre-established deadlines for which effective time management and communication will be essential.

Who`s it for

(International) students with an interest in the (journalistic) use of new and social media to tell multimedia stories online.

Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course, the participants will be familiar with:

  • writing for the internet
  • sourcing and making their own photos
  • recording and editing audio and video
  • using content management system to publish their material
  • using social media such as Twitter and Facebook to do research, generate content ideas and get attention and response to their stories
